Team Showcase

Caledon Wildcats (U18 Girls) To Play in OYSL

After 3 years of hard work and dedication from both players and coaches, the Caledon Wildcats have made Caledon Soccer Club history by becoming the only girls’ team to ever reach the Ontario Youth Soccer League.  The OYSL is the highest league in the province with the most skilled players and teams.

“We set a goal at the beginning of the season (2013) to be in the OYSL for the 2014 season. The girls demonstrated that even a club as small as Caledon can do well and be successful when commitment and hard work is the main focus,” said head coach Orlin Chalmers.

The girls built upon their SRSL Premier Championship and subsequent promotion to SRSL Elite division by adding the USA cup and SRSL league cup to their list of achievements.  This was the challenge that the team was looking for. After holding onto first place most of the Elite 2013 summer season, they successfully were promoted to the Ontario Youth Soccer League. 

The team currently practices twice a week and plays in the OWSL on Sunday nights. Two showcases and an international tour to the UK for the ultimate soccer experience are some of the team plans for 2014.

The Team would like to thank the Caledon soccer club for all its support and the Team Sponsor DePaulo Racing Stables. Thanks to the coaching staff: HC Orlin Chalmers, AC Bert Condotta, Manager Josie DePaulo and all the parents of the Caledon Wildcats.

2012 Team Highlights
The Caledon Wildcats had an outstanding year, with the following list of accomplishments. 
* 2012  Champions of the Premier Division having an undefeated season 
* 2012  League Cup Champions 
* A Division Champions of the Schwan's USA Cup 

Presented by PUMA, the Schwan’s is a the largest youth soccer tournament in the Western Hemisphere, with 958 teams representing 16 countries and 22 states. See the Schwan's cup results at http://www.usacup.org/news_article/show/157667?referrer_id=464709.

The team's accomplishments were recognized by the club at the Annual Gala dinner where they met Olympic Bronze Medal winners from the Women's National Team, Robyn Gayle and Melanie Booth, as well as by the Town of Caledon Mayor and Councillors.
